Pirates Ahoy!!

There be pirates! Where there are pirates - there needs to be a pirate ship! The whole school had a fabulous day creating our galleon.

 From creating the sails.....
..and a carrot cannon complete with thermosights!

We worked as whole school to create the bespoke interior (which is rumoured to include a hot tub!).

Some volunteered to walk the plank!

A wandering minstrel entertained the crew with sea shanties.

The completed galleon had all the features you would expect ..

The pirates rewarded themselves with a few swift tankards.

The pirate ship won't be around for long; it's due to set sail at the end of the week. Be sure to pay it a visit before it leaves port!

Everyone's a Winner!

Despite the gathering clouds, everyone had a fantastic time at our annual sports day. The first part of the day was the mini-team activity challenge.
The children were split into colour teams which included children from every year group. The older children did a great job of encouraging and helping their younger team mates. Members of the same family were kept together in the same team - triple threat!!

After the mini-team events, it was time for the races! The crowd of parents cheered on enthusiastically as the children took part in the running race, sack race and of course - the egg and spoon!

The staff had some tricky decisions to make as lots of the races were very closely run!

At the end of the events and races Mrs.Wadeley added up the scores. The winners of the individual cups will be announced in the celebration assembly this week. The winner of the team award was ......
Ryther - the green team!! Congratulations to everyone that took part in a fabulous day.
