Kickstart Kamps at Easter

During the Easter holidays Kickstart Kamps invited pupils from Harewood Primary school to take part in our first ever Kamp! We had loads of fun throughout the three days, we took part in active games as well as being super creative in crafts!
We focused on team building to ensure everyone felt comfortable coming to Kickstart Kamps, we also made sure we were well equipped with water and fresh fruit to fuel the children for the active days ahead!

We engaged all children with some fun games such as mini rounders, we added mini hurdles in between bases which were in fact were easily hurdled by our sporty Kamp members.

Football coach and player Jameel Ible took lead as the children practised their shooting skills and dribbling 'tekkers'.

We always have time for outdoor play!

Time to re fuel with some lunch ready for crafts and team challenges in the afternoon!

We built and designed our very own parachutes and tested their flight!
Plotted treasure!

Winners!

See you again in summer!

Meet the Penguins ~ Class 2

On Friday the children in Class 2 walked down to the Harewood Bird Garden for a "Meet the Penguins" workshop. We were blessed with glorious weather so, as we were early, we stopped for a play near the big tree.

These children were making sawdust...

and these children were making a penguin family out of sticks!

Next we went down to the courtyard and were introduced to Eileen, our guide for the morning. She told us lots of interesting information about the Humbolt Penguins.

We all listened very carefully and  had a chance to ask questions.

We were lucky enough to see the penguins being fed.

They must have been very hungry because they seemed to have a lot to eat..

and we had a good view of them through the glass.

Some children got wet as the penguins splashed water over the top.

Then we went inside to do a craft activity.

We all made a penguin hat.

They looked great when they were finished.

We all waddled like penguins back to school wearing our hats.
Well done Class 2, your behaviour was brilliant and it was a great to round off our topic.
