Class One Week Beginning 9.11.20

A week that included remembrance and fund raising for two very worthy causes. Thank you for the donations for the poppies and the Children in Need Collection.

We started the week by thinking about Remembrance day in our Collective Worship and making a poppy wreath. On Wednesday, Mr Ratcliffe and Jayne came with us to the war memorial in the village. We listened to a poem and said a prayer together. Well done everyone!

We have been busy with lots of number and literacy activities. We did our handwriting together in our phonics sessions this week. I was very impressed.

Here's some of the other lovely stuff the children have been up to.
Using their new skills independently in their self-initiated play too.

A bit of garden maintenance. Clearing leaves and doing a great job.

Our new Collective Worship song, 'Feels Good' by the Rend Collective.
Time for new play dough. Everyone chose their own colour and then had to share it equally.

Finishing the Autumn colour mixing and leaf printing.

PE - small ball skills

Planting Hyacinth bulbs for Christmas.

On Children in need day we began thinking about what it's like to be a baby in preparation for learning about Jesus' birth and our Nativity story.
We played 'This is me as a baby' (thank you for the baby photos).

Congratulations to the winner of our 'estimate the sweets in the jar' competition. Well done and don't forget to share them at home!
What a busy and fun week.
