Go Pyjamas!

Not got time to get dressed before school? Don't worry - come to school in your pyjamas! We have had a great day showing our support for Children In Need by wearing our pyjamas. The children made a contribution to Pudsey so that they could enjoy slouching in their sleepwear. 

"I love wearing my pyjamas - it's so comfy!" said Byron from Class 3.

 Mr. Madeley took the opportunity to kick back and relax in his dressing gown whilst updating the VLE.

 Mrs. Wadeley wore an impressive silk kimono to count up the the Pudsey pounds.

 Mrs. Minshull wore her onesie to keep cosy when preparing a display in Class 2.

 And the winner of the onesie ... is the parrot! Mr.Sturgess squawked: 'I love it! I love it! I love it!'

Everyone agreed the day had been a big success. No news yet on whether Mr.Madeley has any plans to change the school uniform permanently!

Harewood Globetrotters

Kendall from Carnegie visited Class 3 today to help us develop our basketball skills.

 As our basketball coach, she will be working with us every week for the next half term.

 Our first lesson focused on getting used to the feel of the ball. We also worked on our shooting skills.

The class showed great potential. Kendall was so impressed she has invited us to join the after school club at Carnegie. If you are interested in joining the basketball club at Carnegie please see Miss King for a flyer.

Memories of Our First Half-term by Class One

Class One have been thinking about all the fantastic things they have done in their first half-term of school. They looked back through our Memories Book and chose a photograph they liked before thinking of a caption to go with it.

Hugo-a-go-go!!

Key Stage 2 were out of the classroom this morning and straight into the cinema. They were treated to a private screening of the hit movie 'Hugo'. The film had all of the children enthralled as the twisted its way through the streets of Paris.

Everyone enjoyed the film and the chance to see it with their friends.



As it was a private screening we were treated to the premier seating, although we soon found out this didn't suit the more vertically challenged - even with the booster seats!

We were grateful to be out of the October drizzle and into the warmth of the cinema.

 Unfortunately, we weren't able to help ourselves to the popcorn....

 ..or the pick'n'mix!

Indoor Athletics Competition (live blog)

Indoor athletics competition at Boston Spa School. Both girls and boys doing well. In 4th place at the half way point.
Final result: Harewood came 4th (missed 3rd by 1 point)

Year 5 Harewood walk

Today Year 5 went on their walk around the Harewood Estate. On the way we learnt all about the history of Harewood, including Harewood Castle, All Saints Church, Gawthorpe Hall and Harewood House.



Ciara Coll said, "It was great fun, but it was very long."



Harry Platt said, "It was brilliant." Katie Mills commented, "Amazing!"
We all enjoyed the day, despite the rain in the afternoon.
