Around the World

Blog created by Monet Page

On Friday the 25th of June, the school held an open house for all parents to come and see our classes. It was International Week, every class had at least three countries.

Class 1 looked at Australia, Greece and Argentina. Class 2 studied Brazil, Italy and New Zealand. Class 4 researched USA, France, Mexico and Argentina. Finally Class 3 had eight countries: Japan, Netherlands, Switzerland, Chile, Honduras, Cameroon, Spain and Denmark.

There were foods to taste, games to play and powerpoints packed full of information to look at.
We had a really great time in each class.

Our parents had a great time too! They took part in our quizzes and tasted the international cuisine.

Some parents even volunteered to have their faces painted.

Lots and lots of visitors took our international trip - it got very hot in the classrooms.

In Class 1 we did some Greek dancing. Class 1 had been practising and were able to give us a demonstration.

In Class 2 we tasted some Italian food. In Class 3 we played on the powerpoint quizzes, and in Class 4 we won lots of sweets!

Each class had lots of visitors, so did the hall which had our '1 goal' campaign going on. Everyone had to sign the supporters scarf. The petition got over one hundred signatures. We will send the scarf to the Prime Minister.

As we travelled around the world, we had a passport. We each got given a stamp for every country we visited. We all enjoyed International Week and I hope we can do it again!
