What a fabulous start to the new year! KS2 had the opportunity of working with the performers from the West Yorkshire Playhouse today. The children took part in a workshop in preparation for their visit to the playhouse tomorrow.
Elvi and Bobby worked with the children to create some amazing machines and inventions that Caractacus Potts would have been proud of.
We learnt the importance of making all of our movements clear for the audience - even those sitting right at the back!
Elvi explained how important it was to listen carefully to the instructions from the director and to work as a team.
The class learned how to signal to the audience when it was time to applaud using a 'button' signal.
Finally we took a tour of the fairground and acted out all of the amazing sights and sounds we might experience there.
After taking part in the workshop we can't wait for our visit to the Playhouse to see the professional production of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' tomorrow!
