Yesterday afternoon we had a fantastic workshop making airfix models of
allied and axis planes, all of which featured in the Battle of Britain
(we know this because the children researched it and compiled the order
of the items to fit a budget). We allocated two hours per group and got
stuck in to see how far we could get with the model making - some of us
had no experience of doing anything like this before, including several
of our parent volunteers!
Amazingly, all groups managed to build and paint their planes in the time allowed! What a fabulous afternoon of art, design, history and teamwork! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who came and made this activity possible!
