This week we took a trip to Leeds Central Library to take part in a fascinating exploration of local history including: a research task using books and manuscripts about Leeds; using old microfilms and the microfilm projector to discover old articles about Harewood School; comparing maps from the 18 and 19th century of Harewood and Leeds (and ; and a tour of the listed building itself, including interesting architectural features (notice the hidden owls in the pictures below). We hope you enjoy these sepia-tinged photographs as much as we did our morning (N.B. apologies the photos are mainly of the same children but the photographer was assigned to one of the three groups)!
