Last week Class 4 took part in a fantastic 'living history' day at the Danelaw Viking Village (Murton Park) where they got the opportunity to experience the daily life of Vikings, including game making, baking, trading and defending their settlements from attackers. There was also a banquet where one of the useless peasants was mocked and ridiculed!

Rememberance Day at Harewood
Last week we were lucky enough to welcome Elizabeth Bell from the Church Conservation Trust to our school. She organised workshops for all the classes round a theme of poppies to help us commemorate Remembrance Day.
The children in Class 1 made poppies out of play dough.
Class 2 and 3 children decorated plant pots and planted poppies.
The children in Class 4 made commemorative candles out of wax.
It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to participate in poppy-related craft activities and to reflect upon the ending of World War One and the reasons why it is so important for us to keep remembering.
