Class 2 Trip to The Abbey House Museum
5.11.19
This morning Class 2 visited the Abbey House Museum in Kirkstall as part of their history topic on toys old and new.
As part of our morning we explored the museum and looked around the museum's Victorian village.
We took a quiz to find out what Victorian job we might have had if we were children in the Victorian times.
The dressing up was very popular!
We learnt that children went to Sunday school at their local church.
We enjoyed a workshop with a lady who showed us lots of different toys. Some toys were old and some looked as if they might be old but actually they were new. We had to look very carefully and even got a go with some of the old toys!
We learnt that old toys work in very different ways to toys that we usually play with.
We looked at spinning tops.
Pop guns.
There was all sorts of different toys to play with!
A Jacob's ladder.
An acrobat toy.
It was trickier than it looked!
Back to the museum..
There was such a lot to see at the museum and we had a fantastic morning. Well done Class 2!
