Eco-Week - Food Waste Audit

During Eco-Week, our Eco-committee children were very busy learning how to reduce food waste.
Thank you to our visitors Mr Mills and Ms Roebuck who organised lots of fun activities to help understand how to reduce food waste in school.
Before lunch, Class 4 took part in a very interesting lesson on food waste - super work, Class 4!

Then, during and after lunch, The Green Team carried out a food waste audit. We collected 6Kg of food from lunch time.  Ms Roebuck and the Eco team calculated that this was over 1.2 tonnes per year (or the weight of 40 x Bella!).  The food we collected has been recycled and it's ready to create green energy.
