We love the NHS feature fortnight! (Updated with more work!)

Over the past two weeks, pupils in Class 4 have been working extremely hard on some wonderful NHS-themed work to learn more about the National Health Service and to show our gratitude for all the brave, incredible work they are doing right now in our current situation. I'm delighted to share the results here on our school blog.

We've had some amazing artwork, baking and 'happiness jars' to raise the spirits and show our gratitude for our frontline keyworkers, plus brilliant history work focusing on 'significant' healthcare workers throughout history (I think we know of course that they are ALL significant!) and figures such as Nye Bevan, founder of the NHS. There has been some incredible acrostic poetry work which I would urge you to read - such thoughtful, moving work!

I've also been so impressed by the pupils who have decided to take social action to support the key workers - this is truly inspirational work and really puts into action the message (borrowed from Ghandi) of Archie B - 'Be the change that you want to see'!

I'm so proud of you all - what a credit you are to yourselves and to our school. Well done! Now please take a minute or two to marvel at all of this wonderful work!

Our Special NHS​

Have you really appreciated the NHS? What is your answer? No or Yes? ​

Elderly, young it doesn’t matter who – whatever the problem they’ll be there for you, ​

Running away is not the thing to do - there are lists of people you can talk to,​

One minute with friends, the next in lockdown – the NHS trying to turn this around, ​

Everyone there is giving their best – their hearts and souls to solve this mess,​

Stay at home and save lives as you do - support the NHS – you know you have to!​

Wonderful newspaper-style history work!

 These 'flower pens' were hand-made and delivered, with an accompanying kind note, to elderly neighbours to help raise a smile and lift the spirits!

 Another superb historical presentation - brilliantly written with a superb level of detail!

Wow! I'm sure you'll all agree that there is an incredible range of work here and I hope this blog post has helped to lift the spirits, remind you that we all remain connected (think of that invisible string!) and hopefully raise a smile too!
