Class One Week Beginning 19.10.20

 A very busy and spooky short week. The end of the first half-term and I am so proud of the children. Thank you for all your help and have a great week off.

School Photographs - your proof copies to view and order are in the children's plastic reading wallets. Everyone was super smart and sensible.

On Monday we collected apples from the school tree and made our apple crumbles. Everyone had to peel an apple and chop it before making their crumble mix. It was hard work but I was impressed by how the children persevered. Great job!

Thank you for the updates of the finished product on Tapestry, they looked delicious!

Working in our colour groups, we finally filmed the story of the Little Red Hen, which we have been practising as a performance story to celebrate Harvest.
I will put the videos on Tapestry.

On Thursday it was our Pumpkin Party day and everyone looked amazing in their costumes (and a bit scary too!)
Even our Big Picture had a pumpkin face. Mr Ratcliffe introduced us to the 'name the witch' competition and we were able to keep her safe for the day.

There were games, treats, potion making experiments and prizes for everyone and we had great party food (thank you to Mrs Williams and B's mum).
We even celebrated a special holiday birthday a little early.

We had a great time designing and making pumpkin faces. We wondered, if we could make a pumpkin face with triangles, rectangles and squares?
It seems we could! Fabulous work everyone.
(See Tapestry for the children's comments about their work
using mathematical language)

We also did some designs on the interactive board.

We finally carved our own real pumpkin together.

We ended the Pumpkin Party with a disco! Great dancing guys!

Enjoy the holidays!
