Matthew's Memorial

On Friday 16th October 2020, we held a memorial service in school to remember Matthew Adcock. Matthew was a much loved and valued member of our school community who died on 7th October 2019 age 5.

At the memorial service, we were able to take some time to reflect on his life and our memories of the time we spent with him.

The children and adults were invited to come forward to place a conker in Matthew's memory jar. Our families have been collecting special conkers for Matthew over the last few weeks.

The children from Class 4 led the prayers and the readings.

Reverend Sylvia spoke to the children about the importance of treasuring the Matthew's memories and the significance of the conkers for Matthew and his family.

At the end of the service, the Adcock family gave all the children a packet of forget-me-not seeds, as these were one of Matthew's favourite flowers, and a tube of commemorative bubbles to blow and to make a wish in remembrance of Matthew.
