Mother's Day Art inspired by spring flowers.

We have been talking about spring over lockdown and even though we haven't been able to go on a spring walk together as a class (yet!), the children told me about the flowers they have seen appearing around us. We looked at some photos to remind us about the colours and shapes of the flowers and talked about the stems, leaves and petals. 

The children chose the ones they thought their mum's would like before mixing the colours they needed, with a little support. Some of them chose to make more pictures through the week and experimented colour mixing on their own. Once everyone had made the flower picture they wanted, we used them for the front of our Mother's Day cards.
