The big news this week was the safe arrival of five healthy chicks, who hatched from our incubator on Wednesday. The eager anticipation and countdown was finally over. We are taking very good care of them. The children helped to prepare a safe environment for them and we will weigh them regularly to make sure they are staying healthy. They have already generated much interest, art work and writing.
We all chose and wrote five names then
democratically narrowed the list to five of our favourites. Welcome to; Marshmallow, Lily, Floppy, Rosy and Gingerbread.
We were thinking about capacity and estimating numbers in maths this week, all
whilst trying to sink our little boats. We had to use our scientific enquiry skills and talked
about recording an experiment, as well as how to successful achieve a
comparative test.
