Class One's Busy International Week
Class One had such a busy International Week. Look at all the things we did. Thank you to all our 'international visitors' who came to the classroom on Friday. We hope you enjoyed yourselves.
This picture shows some of us doing our Greek dancing.

Around the World
Blog created by Monet Page
On Friday the 25th of June, the school held an open house for all parents to come and see our classes. It was International Week, every class had at least three countries.
Class 1 looked at Australia, Greece and Argentina. Class 2 studied Brazil, Italy and New Zealand. Class 4 researched USA, France, Mexico and Argentina. Finally Class 3 had eight countries: Japan, Netherlands, Switzerland, Chile, Honduras, Cameroon, Spain and Denmark.
Our parents had a great time too! They took part in our quizzes and tasted the international cuisine.
Some parents even volunteered to have their faces painted.

Lots and lots of visitors took our international trip - it got very hot in the classrooms.
In Class 1 we did some Greek dancing. Class 1 had been practising and were able to give us a demonstration.
In Class 2 we tasted some Italian food. In Class 3 we played on the powerpoint quizzes, and in Class 4 we won lots of sweets!

Service with style!
Does anyone recognise these very stylish models who were serving up a storm last week? If these Italian ladies look familiar, it's because they are our very own dinner staff. They needed little encouragement to enter into the international spirit.
Mrs. Hebbron and her team designed a complete week of international cuisine linked to our studies for International Week. Which was your favourite day?
Happy Campers!

On the 18th of June 2010 Class 3 went camping on the school field. They played some exciting games, we had to use teamwork and communicate with each other.
After the games, we had a yummy dinner cooked for us by Mrs. Masterton and Mr. Deacon. When our dinner had settled we went to explore the woods and played a hiding game. We returned to school to watch the England match (yawn!). After a bedtime story, we went to sleep.

World Cup Limericks
Here are a selection of the World Cup Limericks the children in class 4 wrote for their homework last week. Kallista's was judged to be the winning entry. Read them for yourself and choose your favourite.
We all watched England on TV
And thought Wayne Rooney was the key.
And thought Wayne Rooney was the key.
The door was locked
Our fans were shocked
We turned it off and ate our tea!

The future of England was looking so bright
It all went wrong when they got on the flight
We all hope it's not over yet
As long as some balls go in the back of the net
If England don't win it just won't be right.

There is a football team called England
Who think they can win the World Cup
The play so poor and never score
The best thing the can do is pack up!!

There was once a great team called Spain
They left their opponents in shame
They had a great line up
Scored goals until times up
You can't get Spain's glory to tame!!

There once was a man called Capello
Who was really quite an odd fellow
He was in a dream
When he chose his team
"Sub off Heskey!"
"Sub off Heskey!"
You could hear us all bellow.
