Day 4 - Mountain Activities Day!

Its quite a long way up, so we stopped for a quick game of... well I'm not sure of the name of the game, but it involved a song with gorilla snot in it! (notice the competitiveness growing as the pictures proceed)

 Spotted it yet?

 Ooooh final three!
Sadly knocked out, but these two have lightening reflexes!

 Winner!
And so we made our way to the summit- a quick stop for catalogue posing!
And then to business- practice climbing technique: the finding of foot and hand holds.

 Its windy at the top!

Getting pretty good at this low level stuff... I feel a challenge coming on!

Who is that hiding in their 'crisp packet jacket'?

Now, in the cold and rain you need to be both resourceful and cheerful- lunch provided the opportunity for all these things!

Once we were stocked up with food it was time to get off up and down things!

 Lovely leg action!

When chilly, it is important to keep warm- the instructor said star jumps, however true to form we preferred a little dance!

The 'I believe in ....' song really helped when the abseilers got a little nervy.

No sooner had we finished going down the rocks, than we moved on to clambering up them!
With no obvious handholds, this was a tricky litttle course, but they rose admirably to the challenge!

Never a dull moment, when you are manning the ropes!

Strong arms are important when climbing, so its important to work out in the down times- think this might have been an overambitious lift though?!

We have not been able to fault team spirit on this trip- nor their ability to strike a pose!

Some people were quite proud of their climb! And rightly so!

We even had time for impressions.... can you spot our favorite pirate?! Mrs Reynolds would be proud that even on a rainy wet wind swept crag, there was time for some drama!

And then to finish off... a spot of weaseling (for the uninitiated amongst you- that is squeezing under and through gaps in the rocks- yes quite a thing, you should try it!)

And for anyone unsure of what a weasel is- this is our best guess!

Why hello Mr Sturgess... what fine beard you have! (Really the drama was just pouring out of us- must have been the fresh air!)
More weasels... gosh they are rampant up on these hills!

After our endevours, there was just enough time for.... yes you guessed it.... More catalogue poses!!!!

Just as the sun finally showed its face, it was time to head back to the centre. Tired, soggy but full of beans, the day had been ace- Bring on the talent show!
