High Adventure 2017 (day one) - stream scramble!

The adventure began with a quick nip across a field and then into the water. As you can see expectation was high... will we swim Mrs Wraighte? Hmmmm just wait and see...

Initiation.. find a massive stone and see what size splash you can make from the bridge. As a test of listening skills, this was a tricky one. From our vantage point under the bridge we were in fear for our noggins, however true to form, the kids performed beautifully and after some hearty splashing we moved on.

Phew, all safe and sound and off into the wilds of the stream. Oh and its also started raining, however no-one really seemed to notice.

The second challenge was to build a quick tower from the stream stones- as we are consummate pro's in towers after Cober Hill, this was a cinch.

A swift game of Horse and Jockey saw some marvelous piggy backs- spot the dangers of carrying your partner on your back on slippy grass!

Nice head gear! Oh we are such a creative bunch.
We also found an in stream dentist chair and stopped for a little remedial dental work.
 And then..... we got wet!

 Sooooooooo wet!

The final challenge was to shimmy under low lying log in the stream. the gap was tiny and it took nerves of steel. They nearly all did it. The grown ups opted for climbing over (sorry everyone but it was a bit like a watery cave! no chance!)

After a rest and hot showers it was time for a well earned tea. Yum!

What will we do now that we are full? Stay tuned to find out.......
